Resident Evil 5's producer has confirmed that black people are active in the game's developing.

Jun Takeuchi talked to MTV's Stephen Totilo about the debatable racist undertones in Resident Evil 5. The adventure's accomplish occurs in Africa, where many of the enemies are antagonistic villagers of black line of descent attacking a Caucasian protagonist.

Totilo's co-writer N'Gai Croal wrote on MTV's Multiplayer gaming blog that, subsequently seeing RE5 for the first time, didn't "feel like anybody black worked along this game." Takeuchi was asked if the team up had expected a reaction or had predicted the multiracial issues.

He responded:

No, we certainly didn't anticipate the chemical reaction. We were quite dumbfounded aside the reaction that came down. I think everyone understands that we ne'er get to with the intention to make anything that was racist – that was never our intention. We think it was a bit of a misunderstanding when we publicized the first images of the game noncurrent in the sidereal day. And we think that as we incite on and leave people to see much of the game and more of what's going on and more of the story, people will get a better idea of the gamy. I think you can see that that reaction has started to become flat down a little bit. To answer the question that was posted on your blog, there are black members in the development team. We do have got staff working along the game, who are sensible of the historical background and we are constantly checking these kinds of things with them.

The deterrent example learned by Capcom was the cultural differences between countries and their views happening race.

"Sure as shooting the most important thing we give birth learned is that contrary countries do date the same things in different ways," explained Takeuchi. "I reckon it's very important as we go along and start other projects to study from other countries and get wind from other companies who are employed in the video recording game and amusement sectors, get word from their experiences, and non have the same problems again. You know, we have had the reverse problem with some games in Japan as considerably. Only we're in the concern of making amusement. We're not dead set take in anything to deliberately shock anyone, so I think we can take few lessons away from this experience."
